Ostara & Spring Equinox
Welcoming Ostara: New Beginnings, Nurturing, and the Turning of the Wheel šøāØ
Welcoming Ostara:
Spring Equinox (Ostara)is upon us, and this year, it feels more significant than ever. The days and nights are finally in perfect balance, and we stand on the cusp of longer, lighter days, watching the world wake up from its winter slumber. š±
For me, this turn of the wheel has felt especially symbolicānot just in nature, but in my own life. I turned 40 last weekend, and if the Spring Equinox is all about fresh starts, renewal, and celebrating the growth ahead, then this milestone birthday has certainly been a marker of reflection and transition.
Turning 40 & Feeling Nurtured šæ
I had the most wonderful birthday celebrations, filled with love, homemade gifts, my niece and nephew singing to me, and a weekend in Glastonbury with friends in a 17th-century manor house. There was even a flower crown lovingly woven for me (I know, perfection!). I couldnāt have felt more nurtured and held by the people who truly see me, and I think thatās one of the biggest lessons of entering this new decadeālearning to trust the love and care that surrounds me. I feel so incredibly grateful for my life right now!
For late-diagnosed neurodivergent folks, reaching a milestone birthday like this can feel like a lot of pressureāas if we need to have everything "figured out." But what Iāve learned is that who we are is constantly unfolding. The people who truly love us are often the best mirrors, reflecting back the things we might struggle to see in ourselves.
As I step into this next chapter, Iām feeling more creatively fueled than everāready to embrace the light and share some beautiful new pieces with you all to help you connect with the season and Mother Nature. šøāØ
Welcoming Spring with New Creations šø
Feeling so nourished and inspired from my birthday and the shifting seasons, Iāve been working away on some new pieces that celebrate this beautiful time of year.
I canāt wait to share my Spring Equinox collection with you allādesigned to capture the magic of this season, the quiet strength of growth, and the beauty of renewal. Keep an eye on your inbox on March 20th for the official launch! šæāØ
The New Moon in Pisces:
Dreaming Into Spring & Welcoming Aries Season šāØ
I view astrological changes as invitations for reflection rather than strict rules. Recently, we experienced a New Moon in Pisces on February 27th, encouraging us to pause, dream, and set intentions for the future. Pisces energy relates to intuition, emotion, and creativity, prompting us to let go of old expectations and go with what feels right. This theme highlights that everything begins as a dream before it fully develops. It marks a gentle shift from winter to spring.
A good friend created my birth chart, revealing that my moon is in Aries, the opposite of Pisces. This reflects my struggle with both ADHD and Autism, balancing impulsivity and structure, focus and restlessness, water and fire. I enjoy both elements; I need my salt baths and firepit gatherings!
What dreams are forming in your life right now? What seeds are you planting?
Ostara
A Celebration of Growth & Balance ššæ
Ostara is all about embracing the energy of renewal, much like the seeds pushing up through the soil, reaching for the warmth of the returning sun.
But where does the name Ostara come from? This festival is named after Eostre, a Germanic goddess of spring, fertility, and dawn. Her name is thought to be the root of the word Easter, and many of the familiar symbols of Easterāeggs, hares, and themes of rebirthācan be traced back to ancient pagan traditions honouring her.
Much like Easter, Ostara celebrates balance and new life. Falling on the Spring Equinox, when day and night stand in perfect harmony, it marks the moment when the light overtakes the darkness, leading us into the brighter half of the yearā¦
Spring Equinox
Is a time toā¦
š± Embrace new beginningsāwhether thatās a fresh mindset, a creative project, or simply allowing yourself to grow at your own pace.
āļø Find balanceāday and night are equal on March 20th, inviting us to reflect on the harmony (or lack of it!) in our lives.
š Nurture yourselfājust as the earth begins to bloom again, what do you need to feel nourished?
I love this festival because itās not about rushing aheadāitās a reminder that growth happens gradually. Thereās still a crispness in the air, but the light is growing stronger each day, and weāre beginning to shake off the dormancy of winter.
šø How are you embracing the energy of renewal this season? šæ
Motherās Day & The Many Forms of Nurturing šæ
With Motherās Day falling close to Ostara; this year it's Sunday 30th, it feels like the perfect time to reflect on the theme of nurturingānot just in the traditional sense of celebrating mothers, but in all the ways we give and receive care.
For some, Motherās Day is a joyful time, but for others, it can bring complex emotionsāwhether due to loss, strained relationships, or personal circumstances. So instead of focusing solely on the traditional idea of motherhood, I invite you to honour whatever brings you a sense of nurturing.
š± Maybe thatās spending time in nature, feeling held by the changing seasons.
š Maybe itās a practice, a person, or a place that makes you feel safe and loved.
āØ Maybe itās giving yourself permission to rest, reflect, and recharge.
And of course, we can all take a moment to honour Mother Earth herself, whose unwavering cycles of life, death, and rebirth remind us that everything happens in its own time.
Ways to Celebrate Ostara & Welcome Spring
šÆļø Light a candle to welcome the return of warmth & light
šø Decorate with spring flowers like daffodils, primroses, or cherry blossoms (I may be able to help with this ;))
šæ Take a mindful walk & notice the first signs of spring emerging
š Do something creativeāpaint, journal, craft, or bake something seasonal
š Clean & refresh your space/Altar to welcome fresh energy into your home
Final Thoughts:
Flowing with the Seasons šæ
Ostara, the Spring Equinox, my 40th, and the New Moon in Pisces have all aligned to remind me of one thingāchange happens gradually, but it always happens. The shift from winter to spring isnāt instant. Some days are still cold, some trees are still bare, but underneath it all, life is waking up.
Iāve come to realise that marking time through seasonal cycles helps me stay presentāit reminds me to create space to reflect, reconnect, and look forward.
But no matter how you choose to mark timeāthrough seasonal traditions, astrology, family milestones, or simply your own quiet moments of reflectionāMother Nature is always there, just outside the window, following her own rhythms. She doesnāt rush, she doesnāt forceāshe simply grows, adapts, and continues.
And thatās the energy I want to carry into spring. šøāØ
