Ostara & Spring Equinox

Welcoming Ostara: New Beginnings, Nurturing, and the Turning of the Wheel šŸŒøāœØ

Welcoming Ostara:

Spring Equinox (Ostara)is upon us, and this year, it feels more significant than ever. The days and nights are finally in perfect balance, and we stand on the cusp of longer, lighter days, watching the world wake up from its winter slumber. šŸŒ±

For me, this turn of the wheel has felt especially symbolicā€”not just in nature, but in my own life. I turned 40 last weekend, and if the Spring Equinox is all about fresh starts, renewal, and celebrating the growth ahead, then this milestone birthday has certainly been a marker of reflection and transition.

Turning 40 & Feeling Nurtured šŸŒæ

I had the most wonderful birthday celebrations, filled with love, homemade gifts, my niece and nephew singing to me, and a weekend in Glastonbury with friends in a 17th-century manor house. There was even a flower crown lovingly woven for me (I know, perfection!). I couldnā€™t have felt more nurtured and held by the people who truly see me, and I think thatā€™s one of the biggest lessons of entering this new decadeā€”learning to trust the love and care that surrounds me. I feel so incredibly grateful for my life right now!

For late-diagnosed neurodivergent folks, reaching a milestone birthday like this can feel like a lot of pressureā€”as if we need to have everything "figured out." But what Iā€™ve learned is that who we are is constantly unfolding. The people who truly love us are often the best mirrors, reflecting back the things we might struggle to see in ourselves.

As I step into this next chapter, Iā€™m feeling more creatively fueled than everā€”ready to embrace the light and share some beautiful new pieces with you all to help you connect with the season and Mother Nature. šŸŒøāœØ

Welcoming Spring with New Creations šŸŒø

Feeling so nourished and inspired from my birthday and the shifting seasons, Iā€™ve been working away on some new pieces that celebrate this beautiful time of year.

I canā€™t wait to share my Spring Equinox collection with you allā€”designed to capture the magic of this season, the quiet strength of growth, and the beauty of renewal. Keep an eye on your inbox on March 20th for the official launch! šŸŒæāœØ

The New Moon in Pisces:

Dreaming Into Spring & Welcoming Aries Season šŸŒ‘āœØ

I view astrological changes as invitations for reflection rather than strict rules. Recently, we experienced a New Moon in Pisces on February 27th, encouraging us to pause, dream, and set intentions for the future. Pisces energy relates to intuition, emotion, and creativity, prompting us to let go of old expectations and go with what feels right. This theme highlights that everything begins as a dream before it fully develops. It marks a gentle shift from winter to spring.

A good friend created my birth chart, revealing that my moon is in Aries, the opposite of Pisces. This reflects my struggle with both ADHD and Autism, balancing impulsivity and structure, focus and restlessness, water and fire. I enjoy both elements; I need my salt baths and firepit gatherings!

What dreams are forming in your life right now? What seeds are you planting?

Ostara

A Celebration of Growth & Balance šŸŒžšŸŒæ

Ostara is all about embracing the energy of renewal, much like the seeds pushing up through the soil, reaching for the warmth of the returning sun.

But where does the name Ostara come from? This festival is named after Eostre, a Germanic goddess of spring, fertility, and dawn. Her name is thought to be the root of the word Easter, and many of the familiar symbols of Easterā€”eggs, hares, and themes of rebirthā€”can be traced back to ancient pagan traditions honouring her.

Much like Easter, Ostara celebrates balance and new life. Falling on the Spring Equinox, when day and night stand in perfect harmony, it marks the moment when the light overtakes the darkness, leading us into the brighter half of the yearā€¦

Spring Equinox

Is a time toā€¦

šŸŒ± Embrace new beginningsā€”whether thatā€™s a fresh mindset, a creative project, or simply allowing yourself to grow at your own pace.
āš–ļø Find balanceā€”day and night are equal on March 20th, inviting us to reflect on the harmony (or lack of it!) in our lives.
šŸ’› Nurture yourselfā€”just as the earth begins to bloom again, what do you need to feel nourished?

I love this festival because itā€™s not about rushing aheadā€”itā€™s a reminder that growth happens gradually. Thereā€™s still a crispness in the air, but the light is growing stronger each day, and weā€™re beginning to shake off the dormancy of winter.

šŸŒø How are you embracing the energy of renewal this season? šŸŒæ

Motherā€™s Day & The Many Forms of Nurturing šŸŒæ

With Motherā€™s Day falling close to Ostara; this year it's Sunday 30th, it feels like the perfect time to reflect on the theme of nurturingā€”not just in the traditional sense of celebrating mothers, but in all the ways we give and receive care.

For some, Motherā€™s Day is a joyful time, but for others, it can bring complex emotionsā€”whether due to loss, strained relationships, or personal circumstances. So instead of focusing solely on the traditional idea of motherhood, I invite you to honour whatever brings you a sense of nurturing.

šŸŒ± Maybe thatā€™s spending time in nature, feeling held by the changing seasons.
šŸ’› Maybe itā€™s a practice, a person, or a place that makes you feel safe and loved.
āœØ Maybe itā€™s giving yourself permission to rest, reflect, and recharge.

And of course, we can all take a moment to honour Mother Earth herself, whose unwavering cycles of life, death, and rebirth remind us that everything happens in its own time.

Ways to Celebrate Ostara & Welcome Spring

šŸ•Æļø Light a candle to welcome the return of warmth & light
šŸŒø Decorate with spring flowers like daffodils, primroses, or cherry blossoms (I may be able to help with this ;))
šŸŒæ Take a mindful walk & notice the first signs of spring emerging
šŸ’› Do something creativeā€”paint, journal, craft, or bake something seasonal
šŸƒ Clean & refresh your space/Altar to welcome fresh energy into your home

Final Thoughts:

Flowing with the Seasons šŸŒæ

Ostara, the Spring Equinox, my 40th, and the New Moon in Pisces have all aligned to remind me of one thingā€”change happens gradually, but it always happens. The shift from winter to spring isnā€™t instant. Some days are still cold, some trees are still bare, but underneath it all, life is waking up.

Iā€™ve come to realise that marking time through seasonal cycles helps me stay presentā€”it reminds me to create space to reflect, reconnect, and look forward.

But no matter how you choose to mark timeā€”through seasonal traditions, astrology, family milestones, or simply your own quiet moments of reflectionā€”Mother Nature is always there, just outside the window, following her own rhythms. She doesnā€™t rush, she doesnā€™t forceā€”she simply grows, adapts, and continues.

And thatā€™s the energy I want to carry into spring. šŸŒøāœØ
